Tourism and Events Queensland

Coochiemudlo Island - just a seven-minute ferry ride from Victoria Point – is not only a popular tourist destination but a place over 800 Queenslanders call home.

That ferry ride, which residents and tourists rely on every day, is now only 50c thanks to the Queensland Government’s 50c public transport fares.

Up until 9 September 2024, Coochiemudlo Ferry users paid up to $6.90 each way (adult).

It is expected that local ferry users will save about $1 million with 50c Coochiemudlo Ferry rides over the next 6 months.

EXAMPLE OF 50 CENT FARE SAVINGS ON THE FERRY:

Romana travels five days a week into Brisbane from Coochiemudlo Island. She will save $1977.33 on public transport over six months with 50c flat fares.
