Rockhampton’s new home of netball

A $5 million Queensland Government commitment will support Rockhampton Regional Council to build a new home for netball in the city.

The assistance will help fund detailed designs and costings, and to gain relevant approvals to potentially move Rockhampton Netball Association (RNA) operations from its ageing Jardine Park facility into a new home within the proposed Rockhampton Sports Precinct.

The proposed Stage 1 of the new facility includes 16 outdoor hard courts, a new clubhouse and changeroom facilities, in addition to a community play space.

The new home will cater to the increasing popularity of netball locally and the RNA’s growing registered membership of around 2800 – one of the largest sports associations in Rockhampton.
