Tenants are now settling into 16 new social homes in Caloundra thanks to the Queensland Government’s Homes for Queenslanders plan.

The 16 one-bedroom homes have been built over three levels and made accessible for older Queenslanders and people with a disability.

It follows several social housing projects across the coast including new homes in Yandina, Little Mountain and Beerwah, as well as construction underway on projects in Nirimba, Banya and Maroochydore.

A major affordable housing project has also been proposed for 90 homes in Birtinya through one of the state’s fast-track approval processes.

These projects are all part of the Homes for Queenslanders plan, one million more homes, including 53,500 social homes for Queenslanders.
