Education infrastructure boom for Sunny Coast schools

The education Big Build is full steam ahead on the Sunshine Coast, with Buderim Mountain State School recently opening their new $13.7 million multi-purpose hall.

The first-class facility is a welcome addition to the school and community and includes a multipurpose sports court, stage, foyer, commercial kitchen, and small classroom.

This builds on the opening of 5 new schools on the Sunshine Coast in the last 5 years to cater for the growing population, including Palmview State Secondary College, which opened in 2023.

The Queensland Government is continuing to build the infrastructure the future of our state needs, spending a record $21 billion on education infrastructure this financial year alone. This includes $2 billion to build, improve, expand and maintain schools.

Since 2015, $1.6 billion has been invested to build and maintain education infrastructure in the North Coast region, with a further $155.2 million committed in 2024-25.

In addition to Buderim Mountain State School’s new hall, $6.7 million has been invested in Burnside State High School and $1.7 million at Noosa District State High School (including its Pomona campus) for building and maintaining critical education infrastructure.
