The new Caloundra South emergency services precinct was officially opened on Wednesday 7 August, ready to provide greater frontline health and community safety outcomes to people in the region.

The $29.9 million state-of-the-art precinct brings together police, fire and ambulance personnel in one location at the new Aura Town centre.

Emergency crews will be able to respond swiftly to incidents due to the precinct’s proximity to main throughfares.

The precinct is a significant investment for the growing Caloundra region and its community and includes:

  • $8.5m fire station to provide 24/7 response to the region and capacity for 50 firefighters to continue to provide effective and rapid response
  • $7.9m ambulance station, staffed by 16 paramedics and an officer-in-charge
  • $13.5m police station, with an Approved Police Strength of 30 officer, will house general duties police officer and Officer in Charge, and several specialist units.
