Rocklands copper project

Cudeco Limited is the proponent for a new open-cut copper mine to be known as the "Rocklands Group Copper Project". The proponent submitted to the department an application to prepare a Voluntary Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) under Chapter 3 of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (EP Act). The department approved the Voluntary EIS application on 13 November 2006.

The status of the process for the assessment of the Rocklands Group Copper Project is as follows:

1. Submission of draft TOR
2. Public notification of draft TOR
3. Final TOR issued—EIS in preparation
4. Public notification of EIS
5. Proponent responds to submissions
6. EIS assessment report

The EIS assessment report was issued to Cudeco on 27 July 2011 and the EIS process under Chapter 3, Part 1 of the EP Act has been completed.
