The Yuwi Land and Sea Rangers work to protect the natural and cultural resource values of their land and sea country around Mackay.
Their priorities include:
- environmental and cultural monitoring of high value areas and sites
- integrating visitor engagement and management with small-scale cultural tourism
- mapping, controlling, and monitoring weeds and pest animal species, especially in culturally and ecologically significant areas and sites
- working with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service in land management across state parks and national parks on Yuwi Country.
