Marriage certificate

Step 1: Proof of ID

Check that you have all of your proof of ID documents with you. You will need to show these to our customer contact officer when your ticket number is called.

Step 2: Take a ticket

If you haven't already, take a ticket from the ticket machine at the entrance.

Step 3: Fill out and submit application

Once you've submitted the form, your application will go straight into our system. When your ticket number is called, you'll just need to give the customer contact officer your name so they can find your application in the system.

Step 4: Listen for your ticket number

Take a seat in the waiting area and listen for your ticket number to be called. You shouldn't have to wait long.

The Department of Justice and Attorney-General is collecting your personal information for the purpose of processing your application for a marriage certificate under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2023. The information on this form may be provided to law enforcement agencies and to government and non-government agencies for verification of the data. Access to this information or a certificate may be granted to any person who has adequate reason to obtain it, or who meets the requirements of the access policy.
