How to digitally sign a form

Some Transport and Main Roads forms can be signed digitally. These forms can be downloaded, completed and signed on your computer or mobile device instead of printing and signing a paper copy.

Forms that can be signed digitally will be labelled.

Once you’ve signed, follow the instructions on the form to submit it—only certain forms can be sent to us by email, while others will need to be posted or lodged in person.

Adding a digital signature

To sign a form digitally, you must download the file to your computer or mobile and open it in Adobe Reader. You won’t have the option to sign a form if you open it in your web browser.

You can use the free version of Adobe Reader to sign forms–no purchase or subscription is required.

Sign with a digital signature

You may be able to sign a form digitally by:

• typing your name
• drawing your signature with your finger, a mouse or a stylus.
• inserting an image of your handwritten signature.

Sign with a digital identity

You can also use a digital identity to sign a form. You may decide to use this option if you’ve created a digital identity before to sign other PDF documents.

Please note: The digital identity used to sign a form is not connected to the Queensland Digital Identity (QDI) that is set up when you log into the Queensland Digital Licence app. The QDI can’t be used to sign forms.
